So after a day of no sleep I ended up helping my eldest sister move my old warderobe (think Lion, Witch, and. . . for visual image of this thing) set into a truck for disposal at her house in thedalles (pronounced "theedles"). The guy we rented the uhaul from was possibly one of the most uncooperative humans on the planet. He quoted us a price over 80 dollars different from the one I'd found on the official Uhaul site and when I mentioned this he simply said he couldn't do anything about that. So I made him go onto the website and look for me. Which he grudgingly did as it became clear I wasn't going to budge on the issue. And I was of course correct about the price. So then he told us that he couldn't give us that price, we would have to go home, make the reservation online, and then return to pick up the truck. Mind you, there we were, looking at the computer screen, with the ability to reserve this truck at this price one tiny click away. A click he claimed he just couldn't do for us or let us do. That was when I said "give me the phone." I called the general managing place or whatever it was (he did kindly give me that number... as long as kindly is synonymous with teeth grinding... and I explained the issue to the woman there, she talked to him, and he finally gave us the correct price. Bleh. I don't know what we were expecting though, as La and I were waiting in the room for someone to come help us we heard this guy cursing a storm in back at some other employee, so go figure.
Everything got moved though, which means one less thing to take care of before I leave.
I am finally getting excited about my trip. I think. At least, sometimes the twinges get going inside. Going to be a long flight though, and not entirely sure what I'm doing the first week that I'm there. Maybe heading up into N. Germany. Might head over to Brussles though or Amsterdam, since I'll have to get back to Germany to meet up with Elfie so we can go explore the Black Forest.
Only a few things left to do before I go, but I've got a whole week and a half, plenty of time, right?
Too much sunlight. Brains are a puddle. Played pool last night and I think I made about three shots total and two were accidents. I'm sure it was just because I was tired, yep, definately!
Still have to unpack my bed from the car. So lazy!
I am zen. Which looks a lot like laying on the floor under the AC listening to the Jackmormons. Meh.
